I initially wrote this piece for a humble ironage.media’s writing prompt competition. I am very pleased to announce that the people behind the Iron Age Media website have offered me something significantly better than first prize: publication in the ANVIL speculative fiction zine!
As such, I’m removing the story to comply with the terms of my contract. It will be published in issue #3 of ANVIL: Iron Age Magazine.
Considering buying a copy if you want to support me. I’ve heard good things about other aspects of the publication as well.

Author's Note: I was originally going to end with a scene at the end where Hanisli and Miri are visited by one of the Entities/Angels after they return to the tower.
I ran out of both time and words (count limit). I'm not sure if it's better like this or not. I may write that as an addendum later.
